did you know…?
Item #1 — Happy Martin Luther King Day! I hope many of you got the day off & are enjoying it to the fullest…as well as taking a moment to reflect upon what the man himself stood for.
Item #2 — New emoticons! :blowkiss
Happy Valentine’s Day :VDay
St. Patrick’s Day :stpat
& Easter :easter all rolled into one! (With a few generic naughties thrown in just for fun. :cuffs )
Item #3 — Please mark your calendars for tomorrow’s guest blog with debut author Joan Swan. She’ll be here talking about her upcoming release, Fever.
Now on to the fun stuff…
Did you know…
There’s a road in Norfolk, England named “Sluts Hole Lane”?
There’s a county in Texas called “Glasscock”?
There’s a town in England named “Titty-Ho”?
There’s a village in Powys, Wales, named “Three Cocks”?
There’s a town in Wyoming named “Maggie’s Nipples”?
You know what they say about real estate: the most important thing is location, location, location. :rolf
And I shall leave you to make up your own jokes for the rest. :cuffs

As a Pennsylvania who lives about 5 miles from Intercourse I’d also like to point out two other places very close… Paradise and Bird-in-Hand.
And, no, I’m not joking. LOL

Yes, but you have to go thru Bird-in-Hand before you can get to Paradise, right? :muahaha :muahaha :muahaha

Love the new emoticons… And the names of those towns had me chuckling out loud…
Have a great day.

That’s pretty much how I feel about holidays. I know they’re happening, but I spend most of them the same as any other day—writing—so they don’t have much impact. :runrun

In WI, we have Bohner’s Lake (pronounced Boner) and Bong Recreation Area State Park.
On January 16, 2012 at 11:48 am
Heidi says:
:rolf Bet I know what kind of “recreation” is taking place at that park!
And it’s all in the pronunciation sometimes, isn’t it? Around here, we run across the family name Kuntz. Gotta be *real* careful with that one. :oops

Okay this isn’t the name of a town in Indiana (though we have some funny ones…no one tell my daughter there is one called Bacon, In or her bags will be packed and she’ll be out of here), but I found this story…
It’s about naming a government center after a 4 term mayor that was pretty well liked despite his name.

As for the holiday…what holiday? I have to work. (Wait, let me rephrase that….I GET to work. It’s all a part of my more positive attitude I’m going for…although today, not feeling it so much). I’ve been getting ready to paint another room in the house which will only leave 2 more and I will finally be rid of the ugly color and flat paint in my house! If I could only grab some energy now to do the prep work for it.
:sick

Oh one of the names is French Lick….and now thank you very much Heidi….I’ll never be able to go there again without thinking naughty thoughts!

Ooh-la-la. Let us kiss with tongues & lick each other afterwards. Is that what you mean by French Lick? :cuffs
P.S. Where’s the old over-the-top LJ reaction to new emoticons? Usually you’re over the moon when new ones show up! :twirl

Sorry I was contemplating the whole had to go into work and didn’t want to, but was trying to have the “I get to” attitude. I knew it would have better to stay home and I was right.
But don’t worry….I have plans for these emotions!!!! :muahaha
(But I already miss the :booby one)

Heidi says:
I do not even know how people would be able to keep a straight face while talking to a man named Harry Baals. :dropmouth
And I’m with you on “getting” to work. Trying really hard to make up for the time I lost after the surgery, & while it’s going well, there is no time to take off just because some guy had a dream. (And I mean that to cute, not offensive in any way, I swear. :peekaboo )
Altho I will admit this…all day today, every time I think of MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech, all I see & hear in my head is the drunk cupid from Tangled hiccuping, “I got a dream. I got some dreams…” :rolf

Laura J. says:
:rolf No one seemed to care (or maybe even notice how the name might sound) :rolf Can you imagine the news reporting a breaking story at the Harry Baals Courthouse. :rolf He must have been a pretty good guy who had parents with a weird sense of humor!

Question, tho…If this is Journey 2, was there a Journey 1? Obviously I missed it. :oops
Wait! Apparently this is a sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth. Got it. And I liked that one, so this should be fun, too. (Dwayne notwithstanding. :cuffs )
