Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday, my Darlings!  How have the past seven days been treating you? :smiley22

This week, the biggest thing I AM HAPPY about is having my sweet little Bella home from the veterinary clinic & on the mend from a nasty UTI. :smiley10  I actually had to call the vet last Saturday & take her in as an after-hours emergency because she started showing clear signs of major problems.  (Not a single sign before that, but the minute I started to notice something funky, it was clear things were bad.)  She actually had to stay overnight so they could give her fluids, monitor her, & try to get a urine sample for testing, but once all of that was successful, she was able to come home the following morning.  Definitely a urinary tract infection.  Definitely needed antibiotics to kick it.  Definitely good that I called when I did & was willing to pay weekend/emergency prices.  As the doctor put it, “Anything urinary-related with cats is an emergency.”  (And she’d had a cat in just the week before who had to be euthanized because the owners waited four day —through the weekend—before bringing him in; by then, the blockage was so bad, they couldn’t get it cleared.)  No way!  That sort of thing is not going to happen on my watch—not with one of my babies! :smiley31

On a much smaller scale compared to “healthy, happy Kittehs,” I AM HAPPY that I got to immerse myself in The Walking Dead again during AMC’s New Year’s marathon.  I had to record most of them to watch later, because there was no way I could sit & just watch for three days in a row, but it was great to see my Darling Daryl :smiley20 & be surrounded by zombie gore again.

I AM HAPPY, too, that I finally watched RED 2 on the Torture Cycle this week & absolutely loved it!  I’m always a little nervous about watching sequels when I really liked the first movie, because sequels can be so hit-or-miss.  But RED 2 was definitely a hit!  Just as funny, action-packed, & entertaining as the original. :smiley33

And last but not least, I AM HAPPY to have my newest baby, Pippa, in my life.  She is such a joy!  Such a sweetheart!  Such a little photo 100_1601copy_zpscaedbabc.jpgdarling!  And such a youthful spirit that she fills every day with laughter & new experiences. God sure did know what He was doing when he sent her prancing up my sidewalk. :smiley15

That makes it a good week in my book. :smiley4

How about you?  What are you thankful for or happy to celebrate this week? :smiley30

    :smiley8 Happy Sunday. :smiley25

This week has been all about staying warm. Staying home with tea, cocoa and some really good books. I am re-reading the entire In Death series and interspersing them with books I’ve promised to review. The kitties are curled up by my toes and I am a happy girl.

Tell me about it! But aside from the boobs chattering (a Maxine funny I posted to my Fans FB page yesterday), that sounds like just about the best time ever! I love staying in, bundled up in warm jammies/clothes, & doing nothing but reading. :smiley17 :smiley4

I am happy to get through this very, very cold week.. It made walking outside very difficult… For now the severe wind-chill has subsided… :smiley14 The sun is shining and that always makes me feel good. It gave me the chance to catch up with some shows I had on my PVR and read some good books under my nice warm afghan… with a nice cup of something :smiley18 to drink.

Oh, I know. We’ve had a lot of ice here this winter, which makes getting around dicey. :smiley8 Today is a bit warmer, though, which is nice.

And see what I said to Donna above: staying in when it’s cold, reading, watching TV… Perfection! :smiley5

I’m so happy to hear that the UTI for the kitteh has cleared up and that the newest edition is settling in fine.

I am happy that it’s finally cooled down and today it’s even raining!

    :smiley26

I am also happy that I’ve been winning books left and right in blog contests. I’ve won 10 books in the past month. woohoo!

You are the only one who’s happy with a “cool down,” Mary! Everybody else is ready to start setting their clothes on fire for warmth! :smiley14

How is that new pup of yours doing, btw? Pippa’s just one of the crowd now—I hope it’s the same for your little guy after everything he’s been through. :smiley34

happy that the new kitty is feeling better, happy that she has a wonderful owner who wasn’t going to wait until the vet until the vet was open.

it is has snowed here, and snowed and snowed. today was a little warmer so it is starting to look a little mushy out there. still no stupid car, so wonderful to have a friend who is willing to help out. :smiley25
