FREE BOOK FRIDAY

This week’s Free Book Friday offering is The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter, Book 1 of her “Lords of the Underworld” series.  (And it’s really good, by the way. :winkwink )

To enter the giveaway for this book, simply leave a comment to today’s post that includes the code FBF—for “Free Book Friday,” of course—to let me know you’re interested in the drawing. (U.S. residents only for the prize, please, but everyone is welcome to chat.)

Winner will be announced during our Happy Sunday post on…well, you know, Sunday.  Winner is responsible for contacting me with her mailing information—i.e. I will not be contacting you—so be sure to check back in or you might not even know you won! :whhhat (If prize isn’t claimed within 7 days, another name may be drawn or item may be tossed back into the goody bag to be re-used for a future giveaway.)

Happy Friday. I love “Lords of the Underworld” series by Gena Showalter and I own them so don’ count me in the contest.

I loved the video. Why does cursing sound so much better with an Irish accent?

  2. Laura J. says:

    I love the Irish!!!! :beerlaugh

  3. StacieDM says:

So glad it is Friday. This has been the longest week ever. FBF me please. I’ve wanted to start this series forever. Everyone have a great weekend!
    :kisses

    • Heidi says:

Sorry you had a long week, Stacie. This is definitely a good book to start the series with. Of course, I’m a little anal-retentive when it comes to reading connected series in order, so maybe that’s just me. :cantputdown

  4. Emily F says:

    FBF! and TGIF!

And for anyone reading, I’ll ask you to send prayers/thoughts/vibes of goodness toward my husband and the rest of the 20th Special Forces Group who is leaving for Iraq today…I ain’t too proud to beg for support. 🙂

    • Heidi says:

Wish I had a cyber-salute emoticon on here right now…

But I will keep your hubby & his entire team (is that the right term? *g*) in my prayers. God bless them—literally—for all they do for us. But here’s hoping they’re home again really, really soon! :brava

  5. Leigh Duncan says:

    Love your Friday funnies, Heidi!

    • Heidi says:

Thanks, Leigh. I love them, too…they give me a chance to share my odd sense of humor with the world. And, really, it’s just no fun to laugh your butt off over a cartoon if you can’t run to someone else & say, “Look!” then snicker all over again. :beerlaugh

  6. Virginia C says:

On this very casual Friday, I say “Thank you!” for offering such a fabulous “FBF”! I have yet to read a title by Gena Showalter, and this would be a terrific way to start the series!!! :hi

    • Heidi says:

You’re welcome, Virginia. I’ve really enjoyed this series so far (altho I’m a few books behind :blinkie ) & know you’ll enjoy it, too!

  7. Dee says:

I hope the winner enjoys this book [and series] as much as I do.

    Hi all!! Happy Friday!

  8. Ann says:

Love the one about shopping in comfort!! Even when I’m shopping for “cheap flights”

    • Heidi says:

He he. That’s why I like to go grocery shopping at 3am…you can get away with a much more relaxed dress code. Altho not quite that relaxed. :crazy

  9. Anne says:

    FBF

I loved the video. I’m currently looking into trips to Alaska for my parents and can really relate.

Do you know the name of the singing or comedy group that was?

    • Heidi says:

I think the group is named somewhere in the video, either introduced verbally at the beginning or printed at the end. I may have to watch it again to see…gosh, what a trial. :Bigthumbs

    • Heidi says:

Anne~ I was wrong; the name wasn’t mentioned in the video clip, but it was on the original YouTube posting.

The group is called Fascinating Aida, a British all-female comedy trio. (No kidding, huh? :beerlaugh ) Here’s their website, if you’re interested: http://www.fascinatingaida.co.uk/

  10. Pamela Cayne says:

Perfect funnies, especially for the day after St. Paddy’s! :beerlaugh

    • Heidi says:

Thank you, Pam. Can you believe I actually forgot these would be going up the day after St. Pat’s…otherwise I probably would have gone full throttle on the Irish funnies. :beerlaugh But I must have a bit of the luck o’ the Irish in me to have run across this video at the perfect time. :brava

  11. mary k says:

    Wow, that video was hilarious!

I’ve already bought all the Lords of the Underworold Books so you don’t have to enter me in the contest. 🙂 I love this series so I know who ever wins will be smiling. 🙂

  12. Hollie says:

FBF me please…and I dont have this one. :devilme

    TGIF!

    • Heidi says:

You’re behind, Hollie! But then, so am I—by a TBR pile of about 9,763. :faint

      • Hollie says:

I am sooo with you on the TBR pile…and I keep getting more and more of them. Library book sale yesterday added 11 of them!! :eeee
