Tease Me Tuesday
A great new review for ON THE VERGE OF I DO!
Very good book. I could see in the earlier books that the relationship between Eli and Laurel wasn’t the strongest, so the end of their engagement wasn’t a surprise. It was something of a surprise to me that Eli fixated on Kara so quickly, but he was surprised by the flare of attraction he felt that night he went to her house. Once he realized that the feelings he had for Kara were far stronger than those he had felt for Laurel, he set out to convince her that they belonged together. He had some great ways to do it (besides the obvious) and I loved their picnic on the beach. Kara had been in love with Eli for years, and wasn’t convinced that his pursuit of her wasn’t just some sort of rebound thing. I loved the ending when she went to him at the park, and again at the dinner with her family. I’m really looking
forward to the next two books in the series – I think I know who the bad guy is, but I’m not positive.
Thank you so much to Susan of Susan’s 2012 Reading List for this great reader review of Kara & Eli’s story! :eeee
And of course you can read the full review (which is just a tad longer) at Susan’s blog.
next I think I’ll…
Now that I’ve finished & turned in A BABY IN THE BILLIONAIRE’S BOARDROOM, I get to take a deep breath—deeeeeeeep. breaaaaaath.—& relax a bit. Not for long, I’m sure, but there are a few things I’d like to catch up on before the whirlwind begins again.
First & foremost, I really want to finish reading Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown. I only have a few chapters left, & it’s getting good. You have no idea how hard it’s been not ignore everything else (i.e. a little something called my deadline
) to sit down & just barrel through the last 50 pages or so. That whole light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel, reward-at-the-end-of-the-job thing really doesn’t work for me. When I’m reading a good book, I want to sit down & read straight through, dangit…to heck with priorities & responsibilities.
But I didn’t…I was a good girl.
And now I do get to sit down & reward myself by finding out how this great romantic suspense ends. :twirl
Then I should probably do some laundry. I’m not saying it’s been a while since I’ve washed clothes, but there have been a few times in the last couple of months when I’ve accidentally stumbled into my piles of dirty laundry & nearly suffocated before I could find my way out.
Worst of all, I’m running low on slipper socks & work clothes. And by “work clothes,” you know I mean pajamas. Notice I didn’t say “underwear.” When you live in pjs, you can totally get away with going commando. Just one more way I’m doing my part to conserve water & save Mother Earth. :muahaha
It also wouldn’t hurt to mow the grass. It’s that time of year again, you know. Things are green instead of brown &/or white. Things are growing…taller by the day. The neighbors have already been
out a couple of times & they’re starting to stare or cast disgusted glances in my lawn’s direction. Well, pfffft on them! I’ll mow when I’m darn good & ready! And actually, I do enjoy mowing once I’m out there doing it. It’s the changing out of pajamas & getting out there that seems to be the problem.
And then, sadly, I should probably figure out what to write next. Another Harlequin Desire? Another humorous contemporary a la “Chicks with Sticks”? Another sexy, funny vampire romance or “other” type of paranormal? Something else entirely?! There are too many options, too many ideas swirling around in my brain.
So first I’ll take a nap.
And then, maybe a glass of wine to help me think. ![]()
Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday!
With all of the holidays & “special occasions” hitting us one after another recently, it’s been a while since we’ve done one of these, huh? Guess we’ve got some catching up to do. :winkwink
So what’s got you feeling cheery this week? (Or over the past couple of weeks. It all totally counts.)
I AM HAPPY that I got my latest Harlequin Desire polished up & turned in, of course. There were some sketchy moments with this one when it came to tying up all the loose ends & meeting my looming deadline. But I did it, & I’m very pleased with the final result. :twirl
I AM HAPPY, too, to know that it’s been scheduled for November 2012…it’s going to be a “Billaionaires and Babies” title…that I got the Art Fact Sheet filled out in record time & Editor C seemed pleased with it…etc.
I AM HAPPY that after months of waiting & thinking the moment might never arrive, ON THE VERGE OF I DO is finally out! Have you seen it on the shelves? Have you bought your copy? Have you already started reading? I hope so. :blowkiss
I AM HAPPY to have learned that ON THE VERGE OF I DO debuted at #95 on BookScan’s Top 100 Romances bestseller list this week. It’s a little early for Desire titles to start popping up there & I DO was the only one to make an appearance, so it was quite a lovely surprise.
Last but not least, I AM HAPPY that I discovered The Big Valley reruns on a new channel I didn’t even know existed—INSP. It’s all goody two-shoes kinda stuff—Happy Days, Little House on the Prairie, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman…& then religious stuff thrown in between, I think. But I do not care, because they are playing The Big Valley & I luuurvs me some Barkleys of Stockton, California. :thumbsup
Your turn! Tell us all the good stuff that’s making you happy this week. :kitty
