Free Book Friday (with a side of Funny) – Friday the 13th edition
A FRIDAY FUNNY

FREE BOOK FRIDAY
What’s more Southern than Forrest Gump? And what’s more fun than Forrest’s little aw-shucks, down-home sayings?
So this week—still in honor of my brand new, Charleston-set Harlequin Desire release ON THE VERGE OF I DO :twirl —I’m giving away GUMPisms for Free Book Friday.
To enter the giveaway for this book, simply leave a comment to today’s post that includes the code FBF—for “Free Book Friday,” of course—to let me know you’re interested in the drawing. (U.S. residents only for the prize, please, but everyone is welcome to chat.)
Winner will be announced during our Happy Sunday post on…well, you know, Sunday.
Winner is responsible for contacting me with her mailing information—i.e. I will not be contacting you—so be sure to check back in or you might not even know you won! :curses
(If prize isn’t claimed within 14 days, another name may be drawn or item may be tossed back into the goody bag to be re-used for a future giveaway.)
no rest for the really, really tired
SUNDAY: After spending another weekend on the proofing & polishing of my latest Harlequin Desire manuscript, I was finally done & really, really happy with the story. I think it may even be one of my strongest yet. :kitty And since it was as perfect as I could make it while still managing to meet my deadline, I took a deep breath & sent it off to my editor so it would be on his desk first thing Monday morning.
MONDAY: Editor C e-mails me back. Got the manuscript. Oh, goody—can’t wait to read it!
TUESDAY: Editor C e-mails again. Hey, I know we talked about putting this book out in 2013, but we’d really like to schedule it for November 2012 instead. It’s going to be one of our “Billionaires and Babies” titles. Of course, in order to squeeze it in, we’re going to need the Art Fact Sheet filled out really, really soon because they’re working on
November cover art now. Could you be a dear & get that done by Thursday? Yep, this Thursday. (That would be today, my Darlings. :dropmouth ) You weren’t planning to spend the next couple of days doing anything silly like sleeping, were you? :moon
I’m paraphrasing, of course. And in all fairness, the sarcasm is 100% mine. Editor C was actually very sweet & apologetic about his eleventh hour request.
And since I’m excited about having another new book out in 2012, I’m happy enough to do it, even if it’s left me scrambling just a bit. Having just read through the manuscript, the characters & story are pretty fresh in my mind, too, which will help when it comes to describing scene ideas for the cover. :cuffs
