Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday, everyone!  How has your week been?  And even if the week wasn’t so great, how has the weekend been treating you?

I hope you’ve got lots to share today in the Gratitude Department, because I couldn’t be more thankful this week if I tried. :sunflower:

As you may have seen on my Facebook page &/or Twitter feed, I took Nicholas to the veterinarian Thursday.  Nothing was really wrong, I just wanted him looked over because he’s 16 years old now & has begun slowing down.  But I was nervous about taking him, too, because I worried they’d tell me something I didn’t want to know—like something being wrong that I couldn’t do anything about. :baseball:

But they ran blood tests, gave him a thorough exam, & I AM SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY that the doctor said he’s in great shape for his age! :cheer:  He does have a bit of arthritis in his “elbows,” which they gave me a prescription for & pain meds to give him for a week or so until the glucosamine/chondroitin kicks in…& his vision is getting bad…& his kidney function is down a bit.  No, I’m not 100% thrilled with all of that, but it’s still not bad for his age & there’s not really anything that can be done about the last two.  I just need to keep doing what I’m doing & love him every minute while he’s still happy & healthy. :squirrel:

Quite frankly, knowing Nicholas is okay & still going strong is more than enough to keep me happy & make me thankful every minute.

But I AM HAPPY, too, that my realtor assessed my “old” house last week to give us an idea of how much it’s worth, & that we also have a neighbor already interested in purchasing it.  I don’t know how that will play out, but it’s nice to know someone is interested instead of having it on the market for a year or two with zero interest, y’know? :squirrel2:

And finally, I AM HAPPY that Elementary & Person of Interest have begun to play on WGN America.  I love both these shows—though Elementary is a bit in the lead :juggle: —& since I’ve already seen them all on their first run-through, I can “watch” them in the background while I do other stuff, but still get the general idea & enjoy Jonny Lee Miller’s sexy British accent. :bashful:

Yep, it has been a good week. :dancin:

But it’s not all about me; I hope it’s been a good week for you, too, & would love to hear what has you happy dancing.  Come on, you can’t let me stand around doing the Happy Squirrel Dance & Pile of Leaves Dance all by myself. :jumping:

I’m happy because I just saw this documentary about lucid dreaming -and lucid dreamers. Stephen LaBerge’s studies and his book, Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming was mentioned in it, so I bought it right away. I would LOVE to be able to have some control over the dreams I see! They have become way too realistic.
And thanks to Postcrossing, this wonderful person from Luxembourg sent me a couple of commemorative 2 euro coins (I collect them) in coin cards. :jumping:

I love the idea of lucid dreaming, too. I’ve seen/heard about some subliminal &/or self-hypnosis recordings that can help you learn that & improve your skills. I’ve never tried them, but it’s an interesting concept.

And yay on the coins! MMD collects certain ones, too, & thanks to our own Darling Pam a while back, she was able to add some special west coast ones to her collection. :fairy:

So glad you have had a good week. Mine has been horrible, sick as a dog with so kind of cold / strep / bronchitis like thing. Plus now the cough has set in, and I am sleeping in the recliner. Hoping the meds kick in soon. The good thing though is that all of my niece and nephews are feeling better so my happy for them. Hoping I am feeling better for the holiday tomorrow. Hope everyone enjoys their Labor Day!

Oh, no—I’m so sorry to hear that, Pam!

Colds are bad enough, but bronchitis…ugh. Used to get it every year, I swear; it was such a regular occurrence, I could call the dr. & say, “My cold just turned into bronchitis” because I could feel the change in my chest. Hated it. You’re not only miserable, but that’s darn painful, too.

Really, REALLY hope you feel better soon—& sending all the good mojo/healing thoughts your way! :sunflower:

I’m so glad your kitty is doing just fine! He’s beautiful.

B’girl did her first National Pageant yesterday and there was some very tough competition in not only her age group but all age groups. Her age group was the largest (8 girls, I think-maybe 9) and while she didn’t finish in the top 3 she still took home Divisional Optional for Fitness and then ended getting Overall Supreme for Fitness (that is out of all age groups). She actually suggested this optional last year to the director and they went with it. Her confidence is growing so much.

My middle son is now in college and so far loves it.

My oldest is doing what he loves (and his wife is very patient about it), WWII reenacting. He went to Colorado this past weekend to hangout in a fox hole.
