a cat by any other name
All right, My Darlings—it’s time to put on your thinking caps again!
I am in the market for some fun, unique name suggestions for a smokey- or silver-gray cat. Kind of like this one…
I’ve come up with some obvious ones—Smokey, Silver, Grey/Gray…but they’re just not doing it for me. :smile45
So if you have some ideas, let me know! :smile6
I’m also open to cute, sweet names that may or may not be related to the color. Just make sure they’re for a sweet, friendly little gal. :smile36 (In other words, no boy names! :smile33 )

First thing I thought of was Lady Grey. I’m drinking Earl grey right now so that might have had something to do with it. lol
Or…
Layden
Midnight
Misty
Sage
Silvie

I love Lady Grey tea! Better than Earl Grey, actually. :smile35
Layden is Irish for “gray lady,” which I love. (Yes, I looked it up. :smile29 )
And I hadn’t thought of Sage; I like that one, too! :smile25

My cat is named Leona Mae. I have also had ones named Sadie, Tess, Sally and my in-laws had a Smokey. All females. :smile7

I like Sadie; that’s a name I’ve always loved.
I don’t *usually* like people names for animals (she says, knowing Nicholas & Simon are within earshot :smile1 ), but sometimes they really suit the pet. :smile19

There’s a family of strays that hang out near the apartment of one of my good friends and I think she’s named them to tell them apart. The names I remember are: Linus, Anakin, Gelato, Pancakes and Waffles.
Sometimes I refer to my cat Margie by nicknames. She responds well to Bitty, Pretty Girl and Princess.
The cat in the pic looks regal, so I’d call her Duchess.

Cute names. Of course, I wish she’d bring them all in, get them spayed/neutered, & give them a good home…but that’s *always* where my mind goes. #nomorestraypets #nomoreoutdoorpets #soapbox :smile13
I *totally* use nicknames for all of my kiddos, too. I can’t seem to help myself. :smile30

Dee says:
Sadly she can’t because the family are sort of standoffish around people and Margie is a hisser when new cats are introduced.

Good name! I’d prefer a cat named Hazel, tho…like the maid, you know, so s/he could clean up after her/himself. *Bwahahaha!* :smile23

There’s something so regal about the cat in that picture, she reminds me of Elsa from Frozen. So I have to suggest that. I also like Eve (from WALL-E – I really like Disney character names for animals…) :smile25 :smile19

Heidi says:
I like that! I haven’t actually seen Frozen yet, tho, so now I feel like I need to before committing. :smile36
But I love Disney movies & I like the “Frozen” image…the color *&* spirit match. :smile25
