happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Whether you celebrate this holiday or not, I think it’s just plain fun.  And 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit, in case you didn’t know.

If you were born in 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, or 2011, then you are a “Rabbit,” according to the Chinese zodiac.

Occupying the 4th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Rabbit symbolizes such character traits as creativity, compassion, & sensitivity. Rabbits are friendly, outgoing, & prefer the company of others. They also prefer to avoid conflict. In confrontational situations, Rabbits approach calmly & with consideration for the other party. Rabbits believe strongly in friends &  family and lacking such bonds can lead to emotional issues.

Their serene nature keeps Rabbits from becoming visibly upset. Because they’re serene animals, Rabbits are easily taken advantage of. Their sensitive nature makes them shy away from aggressive or competitive situations. They’re overall conservative & not interested in taking risks.

Classy, sophisticated, expressive, well-mannered, & stylish, those born under the Sign of the Rabbit enjoy leaning about cultural issues & learning about people from other countries. Rabbits are most comfortable being home, &  their homes are always neat & organized. Home is also where Rabbits prefer to entertain. Rabbits are conservative in their decorating tastes.

Rabbits should work at building more self-confidence & self-worth so they can feel more secure. The desire for remaining in safe, comfortable environments keeps Rabbits from taking risks which sometimes causes them to miss out on good opportunities.

What does the Year of the Rat mean for us, whether we’re Rabbits or not?

I was born in the year of the dog. Funny I always figured me for a cat person. But I guess it will be a good year. Dogs get to chase bunnies all over the place.

I’m a dog, I figured I would be a rat. lol But maybe I just like rats and am not really like a rat…hmmm, my dad has called me a rat on more than one occasion…lol

What it said about dog..:The Dog is wonderfully hard worker, a perfectionist and someone who loves the small details. He is also a bit anti-social, pessimistic and stubborn. They are one of the most honest and trustworthy signs of the Chinese zodiac and will always go to bat for a worthy cause. The Dog is a fantastic listener and his advice is usually very intuitive.

That pretty much describes me pretty well. Anti-social, pessimistic and stubborn…oh yeah, that’s definitely me. lol

Well, it says I’m a snake. I didn’t think that was flattering but the description sounded like me.

Intelligent and highly intuitive are two of the Snake’s many fine qualities. He makes an amusing and romantic friend with a definite flirtatious streak. When challenged or criticized he can be a sore loser. The Snake is very lucky with money and is fond of the odd bet or two. He is quick-witted and enjoys reading, music and occasionally the paranormal side of life.

Apparently, 2011 should be a lucky year in career and romance. All I can say to this is ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!!!!!!!

B’girl is a snake too. She was a bit worried when I told her because she did not want to be a snake, but she liked what is said about her and I think it fits her personality to a T.
