New Year’s revisited

Last week, I mentioned that I not only don’t make lists of New Year resolutions, but couldn’t think of anything specific to add to one, even if I did.  Under the heading “A Day Late & a Dollar Short,” however, I’ve thought of a few I really would like to keep!

:tsspp I resolve to remember to write 2012 on all of my checks & correspondence instead of 2011.  Yeah, this is a tricky one, & I’m betting it will take me a while to get it right.

:tsspp  I resolve to read at least one, but hopefully more of Jessica Andersen’s “NightKeepers” novels—the ones about the Mayan prediction that the Apocalypse will hit on 12/12/12.  I mean, how cool is that?  I love Jessica’s books, but haven’t gotten to these yet, even though I’ve been telling myself forever that I would read them before 2012.  And if that prediction comes true, it’s not like I’ll get the chance to do it in 2013, right? :reindeer  If there are any other 2012 Apocalypse romances out there, I might look into some of those, too…before it’s too late! :brr

:tsspp  I resolve to not get quite so annoyed at The Kittehs when they sleep in front of the TV or knock things off my dressers.  It’s pointless, frankly—cats are gonna do what cats are gonna do.  And no matter how worked up or frustrated I let myself get, it’s not going to change anything. (See above:  cats are gonna do…)  The smarter thing to do would be not putting anything on the dressers that’s going to break when they do knock it off & realize that 99% of the time, whatever I’m “watching” when they decide to nap in front of the television is probably a repeat, anyway, & at least I can still hear it.  There—I feel like a better person already. :icecube

:tsspp  And last but not least, I resolve to buy even more toilet paper.  Yes, it’s true, I already have quite a stockpile going…all White Cloud Green Earth brand, because it is made of 100% recycled fibers – no new trees have died to wipe my butt!  But having Photobucketjust watched “The End” episode of Supernatural & having it reiterated that toilet paper will be more precious than gold when The End actually comes—possibly as early as 12/12/12—just makes me want to load up on more.  Repeat after me, girls & boys:  You can never have too much toilet paper.  And that, my Darlings, is statement you can take to the bank.  At least once the Zombie Apocalypse strikes.

And that just about does it for me.  Actual goals/resolutions in place for 2012.  Whew, I feel better.

So how about you?  Not that the ball has dropped [insert Beavis & Butthead snicker here] & you’ve heard about other people’s highfalutin’ New Year’s Resolutions, have you come up with any of your own?  Maybe even just “buy more toilet paper”? :pumpkin
