celebrity match-up
I’ve been on a Jessica Andersen kick lately, & I’ve started to notice a trend: every Intrigue of hers that I pick up seems to have a character or two on it who remind me of a celebrity.
First I read Snowed in with the Boss, & as I’ve mentioned before, the hero on this one looks an awful lot like Desperate Housewives‘s James Denton. Don’tcha think?
If pressed, I could even peg the heroine as Emily Proctor from CSI: Miami or maybe Poppy Montgomery from Without a Trace.
Then I started Red Alert. Is it just me, or does this guy bear a striking resemblance to Michael Weatherly from NCIS?
And the heroine has a bit of a Julie Bowen (Modern Family) / Mary McCormack (In Plain Sight) thing going.
Next up I think will be Body Search. And this guy…maybe not close up, but from a bit of a distance…does anybody else see Rick Springfield? :pumpkinoncoffee
Seriously, this gal has to be one of the luckiest authors out there. We all use celebrity references to describe our characters to the Art Department in hopes of getting dead ringers—or darn close—on our covers, but Jessica’s actually managed it!
Jealous! :scarymonster
a Monday aww

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday!
For the record, this could be my very own Simon. He’s exactly the same color & often sleeps on his cat tree this way! It’s crazy adorable! :catpumpkin
So how’s everybody doing this week? Wonderful, I hope!
This week, I AM HAPPY that I had zero pain after getting yet another filling replaced. I don’t know what the deal was last time, but this time was completely different. I did have a big of a headache immediately afterward, but I think that was from getting myself so worked up! A couple Advil later & moving on with my life, & I could barely tell anything had been done. Yippee! :scarymonster
I AM HAPPY that I got to do a bit of shopping afterward—again, completely pain free, & therefore misery-free. :winkingpumpkin I hit Big Lots & Ollie’s my two never-know-what-you’ll-find & buy-in-bulk stores. I found some great sinus pills that actually work better than the more expensive, name brand ones I’ve been using. I can’t believe it! :risingghost So I stocked up on those, for sure. Also found a couple more bottles of my new fave perfume, Kitty Girl. I go nowhere & hardly ever wear the stuff, but I just had to have it. :catpumpkin
I AM HAPPY that I also finally found Diet Cherry Cola mix for the SodaStream! Man, they told me it would be out last November, but no matter how hard I looked, it was nowhere in sight. Apparently, they meant this November. :dracula So I scarfed up every bottle on the shelf. :BOO
In case anyone’s interested, they’ve also just come out with Diet Cola with Lime flavor. Not sure yet whether I’ll try that or not. Maybe down the road.
And finally, I AM HAPPY that I got to the chiropractor this week for a much-needed adjustment. On & off all month, my lower back & hips have been bothering me. I think not going all summer long, then thinking I could go back to only monthly visits was a bit optimistic. The doctor said my hips were out on both sides (which explains a lot), so I’ll be going back a little more often for a while to avoid further ouchies. :stayback
So how about you? What’s been going on in your lives this week that you’d like to celebrate, share, or simply be grateful for? Let us know so we can do a little cheer right along with you! :ghostinmailbox
