Outstanding Achievement Award

I’m a little late in sharing this, but two weekends ago at the Washington (D.C.) Romance Writers conference, I was honored with their Outstanding Achievement Award.

And I really am honored.  WRW is a wonderful group, & this particular award is…well, outstanding. :puppydance

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend the conference, but I did send along this little acceptance speech:

Thank you so much for this amazing and unexpected honor. I don’t feel very outstanding right now, lurking in my deadline cave instead of spending the weekend having drinks…I mean, fun with such a terrific group of friends and fellow writers, but I very much appreciate being the recipient of this outstanding award, and I’ll not only think of WRW every time I look at it, but will also try to continue to live up to it. 🙂 Thank you again!

And that pretty much sums it up.  It’s a gorgeous award that I’m truly thrilled someone thought I was deserving of. :heartkitty

Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday!

This week, I AM HAPPY that the weather has been nice enough to open up all the doors & windows on a daily basis.  Yeah, it’s still a bit chilly & I’ve sometimes had to add a few layers to keep from shivering, but The Kittehs love the fresh air, & that’s what really matters! :hotkitty

I AM HAPPY, too, that I’ve pretty much wrapped up PROJECT: RUNAWAY BRIDE.  Gosh, I love this story; the hero & heroine (Reid & Juliet) really grew on me.  I still have a little clean-up to do, but hopefully it won’t be much longer until I can turn in the manuscript I make Editor C happy, as well. :lovemykitty

And I AM HAPPY that the editor working on “Gimme Shelter”—my novella in the upcoming Lori Foster (ANIMAL ATTRACTION, June 2013) to benefit the Animal Adoption Foundation of Hamilton, Ohio—absolutely loved my story.  It was chock-full of rescue cats & dogs, with a hero to die for, & she got it.  She didn’t say I’d thrown in too many pets or went into too much detail about nursing kittens back to health, she simply loved it & that makes me happiest of all. :hugpuppy

Now it’s your turn!  What’s making you happier than a cat in a canary cage this week?  Or what are you thanking your lucky stars for?  It’s time to share! :walkmydog
