Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday!

How are you this week?  Do you have lots of good stuff you’re ready to share with your fellow Darlings of The Dungeon? :may14

As usual, I’ll start… :may15

I AM HAPPY that I got my yard mowed this week.  Man, that was a lot of work.  And it was kind of unintentional.  Frankly, I’d have been happy waiting until June, July, maybe even September before mowing for the first time.  And usually I wait until the neighbors have mowed two or three times before I finally drag myself out & deal with my foot-high grass.

This time, however, I decided to just go out & see if the mower would start.  Sometimes after a long winter, the battery is dead, so I figured if it was, I would charge it & get it ready for…whenever.  But the battery wasn’t dead & the engine started right up.  So I was already there, the mower was running, & I thought, What the heck.

Yeah, what the heck.  I got it done, but it took forever & I’m feelin’ it today, let me tell you. :may33

Oh, & I AM HAPPY (perhaps wickedly so :may23 ) that I actually got my yard mowed & lookin’ fine before the neighbors got to theirs.  Heh, heh, heh.  Betcha they all make a point of getting outside & mowing their own lawns now; when they see my yard mowed, they get nervous & think, “Oh, man, I better get out there if Heidi’s yard is done!”

And I AM HAPPY that the birds who come to my yard are so happy!  They’ve been eating me out of house & home this year, going through seed blocks, loose food, & suet blocks like crazy—I think because it’s been so cold & there’s no natural food out there for them yet.  But I’m happy to feed them if they’re hungry, especially since they make such great entertainment for The Kittehs. :may3

But the thing that makes me happiest is the number of “new” birds I’ve seen that have never been regulars at my feeders before.  Typically, I see Chickadees, Titmouses, Cardinals, Grackles, Blackbirds, Sparrows, Finches, Blue Jays, etc.  So far this Spring, though, I’ve also seen a Black-Crested Titmouse (just one!), Grosbeaks, Woodpeckers, a Flicker (again, just one!), & Oriels.  I’m most excited about the Oriel(s).  I don’t think I’ve ever seen one so up-close before & they’re such a bright, beautiful orange!

That’s an awful lot of happy, so now it’s your turn…

What are you happy about, thankful for, or just plain smiling over this week?  If you’re willing to share, we’re all ears! :may11

So much good stuff!!!! I love the birds you are attracting. My in-laws are big birders and I’m sure they would say it’s a very good thing that you are seeing birds you haven’t seen before. :may14 I got two zebra finches for Mother’s Day and I love them. So much fun to watch.

Speaking of in-laws, I’m about to become one myself (but a good one :may223 ) My oldest son asked his girlfriend and she said yes. He is leaving for CG boot camp :may1 on Tuesday and they are going to get married when he gets back. It’s not really a surprise, I had a feeling about these 2, but that it happened sooner rather than later was. We like her, but we know it will be tough for them until they are out of school (he has 1 more year of college, she has 2 and they both want to go on to get their Master’s). And we have done the tough love part that we can support them emotionally and give them advice, but they are adults and this is their future and marriage. They have been working out their budget (so glad they are listening to us!!) and looking for ways to save a little bit too.

B’girl has recital today (and yesterday). Our first year and it was so much fun. I even danced in it. Our parent team was really THE performance of the show. :may21

My middle son had his first prom last night and WOW did he look so handsome in a tux.

All in all, it’s been a crazy, busy week, but I’m so blessed!

Please advise on pciirng for a boudoir photo shoot, I am looking for just a few photos in an album to give to my fiance as a wedding gift. I would only be comfortable with a female photographer.

I love that you are feeding the birds. I put out some homemade bird feeders in the tree’s because if the manager see’s any out there she takes them down and sends out letters to everyone that we aren’t allowed to feed the birds not even the pigeons. I used some peanut butter to coat a few pine cones and then stuffed the pine cones with bird seed and then hung the pine cones on the pine tree’s. Ha, can’t even see them, they blend right in but the birds love them.

I am happy that I won a few items for my rats like new beds in an online fb auction that benefited a rat rescue.

I’m an apartment dweller but I have a bird feeder just off my patio. I changed the kind of feed I use and have several kinds if finches, red winged blackbirds and cardinals. And the mourning doves feed off what falls on the ground.

My happy news is my novella was released last Tuesday and the reviews so far have been good. 🙂
