this writer’s life
I love serendipity, don’t you?
The heroine of the story I’m writing now (Top Secret Project #2) is a museum curator, & ever since I started writing, museum stuff has seemed to fall serendipitously into my lap.
At first I thought, “Hmm, I should try to watch Night at the Museum & Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian again. Those would be a good jumping off place for museum-setting research.”
Next thing you know, Night at the Museum & Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian were on TV & I was able to watch them & collect great background details & information.
Then I thought, “You know what else might be good for museum research…National Treasure.” Boom! National Treasure comes on, too!
On top of that, I’ve been eyeballing Iris Johansen’s Deadlock for quite a while now. I never really read the blurb to find out what the book was about, it was just at the top of one of my piles & I’m a Johansen fan, so I just wanted to try to get to it, know what I mean?
Well, color me shocked when I did start it & discovered it’s about…*drum roll please*
…a United Nations museum worker who “rescues” antiquities from war-torn countries around the world. AWESOME! :spring23
I don’t know what I’ll need to research for my next project, but I sure do hope serendipity comes along again to help me out!
