in celebration of adverbs

I like “ly” words and I cannot lie.
It’s adverbs that I can’t deny…

Confession time:  I really like using adverbs in my writing, especially the “ly” ones.

You’re not supposed to…or at the very least, it’s suggested that you keep them to a minimum. :animenope

But they’re just so much fun & they roll so easily off the tongue & fingertips.

(In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve already used about seven of them in this post. :seesawkiss )

Here are a few that I catch myself using on a fairly regular basis…

completely

seriously

lovely

actually

loudly

softly

gently

quickly

quietly

soundly

finally

usually

carefully

thoughtlessly

happily

lately

And some that don’t end in “ly” but are adverbs all the same…

almost

already

very

often

quite

so

Can you think of any I use on a regular basis that I may have missed? :animpeekaboo

Or even more that I may want to use in the future? :lipstick

Adverbs can be like potato chips…for some people you cannot have just one.
