Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday, everyone! Have you had a good week? I sincerely hope so—& we want to hear about it, so get ready to share! :bats:
As for moi, this week I AM HAPPY that The Kittehs are happy. They have been so good & so playful this week, it puts a giant smile on my face. :leaves:
I AM HAPPY that I got a new window seat fixed up for The Kittehs. I found it at Goodwill a while back, but it was missing pieces & not quite the right fit for our windows. So I’ve been mulling that over, trying to figure out how I could—as Tim Gunn would say—make it work. :justhangin: Finally found some random parts & was able to swap out pieces from another window seat & jury rig it within an inch of its life. :splat: I am, after all, the Jury-Rig Queen, & from the minute I put it in my bedroom window, The Kittehs (especially Tigger!) have loved it! :blackcat:
I AM HAPPY for my dad’s “ditty bags.” Some might have called I’m a hoarder, but he saved everything. All kinds of odds & ends, extra nails & screws & part…because he just never knew when something might come in handy. And I not only still have all of that (in multiple jars & boxes & containers), but I’m exactly the same way. And because of all those random bits & pieces, I found everything I needed to fix up that window seat…& will hopefully find what I need to fix a second one I’ve got on hand. :frankenwink:
Also this week, I AM HAPPY that I got all of the garlic I could find pulled from the ground & clipped to dry. Have I mentioned that I’ve suddenly become a Garlic Farmer :scarecrow: because we discovered an entire garlic garden in the yard of the New House? We didn’t know what they were at first, then I pulled one & thought it was a small onion, but further cleaning & inspection proved it to be a garlic bulb. And it turns out we have oodles of it. :juggle: I’ll be giving away a lot of it, but keeping a bunch, too, because I looooooove garlic & can’t wait to start using the fresh, giant cloves when I cook. :cauldron:
How about you—what are you feeling especially jazzed about this week? Proud of? Thankful for? Take a minute to tell us about it so we can be happy with you! :twerkin:

Well, I’m happy I found the book A Street Cat Named Bob By James Bowen. I intend to get my hands on the movie too. :allsmiles: I’m also happy my freezer is now full of berries :squirrel: and I found myself a cute cookie jar from International Grand Market that was here for a few days. The cookie jar is apparently called Barney the Barn Owl. :owlintree:

That is GREAT, Minna! I love berries, too! I don’t freeze them, though…I just scarf them up like a vacuum cleaner while they’re fresh. :girlsquirrel:
I’ve never heard of that book, but now I’ve gotta check it out. :blackcat:
And the cookie jar sounds adorable. We need pics! :owlintree: :owlintree:

I actually saw a real owl, too, a couple of days before I came back home. He seemed to be a young owl. :owlintree:
If you intend to see also the movie based on the book, don’t forget Kleenex:

Not sure I can handle a tearjerker. I may have to wait until I’m in the right mood. :sosick:

Hubby’s family reunion yesterday.
Slight emergency last night with youngest(23) but he’s ok. Has to see cardiologist this week hopefully.
Lazy day here today. :angelkitty:

Oh, no! I hope youngest is okay! I’m going to pray it turns out to be nothing. My dr. once told me I had a heart murmur & would die if I had surgery…which was scheduled for the following week. Needless to say, I didn’t die! And all the tests he insisted I have, pre-op, turned out fine. :reaper:
Hope the reunion went well! Those things can be fun…but I haven’t actually gone to one of mine in years. :zzzzzzz:

I’m weird because I absolutely hate garlic. I just gave away the 2 bulbs that Ken bought because I just won’t use it.
I’m not a hoarder, I am constantly throwing things away but glad what you had came in handy to fix the window seat.
I am happy that Ken will be house sitting for a week starting on Wednesday. lol I’ll have the apartment all to myself and can read uninterruptedly.

LOL We are very different people, Darling Mary. But that’s okay…it takes all kinds, right? :okchippie:
The one thing we do have in common, though, is enjoying some alone time. Not that we don’t love our loved ones, but uninterrupted reading time is a must! Enjoy it! :justreading:
