Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday, all!  I hope you’ve had another good week & are ready to share your small joys with us here in The Dungeon. :smiley19

This week, I AM HAPPY that Bella seems to be recovering from her UTI.  She had a couple of ups & downs, & the last time I said that about Simon, the infection came back & I had to give him a second course of antibiotics.  But at least she’s on the mend, & I know to watch for additional symptoms.  She’s also playing normally & coming to me for snuggles & brushings, so she’s definitely feeling better. :smiley22

I AM HAPPY that DishNetwork gave us another free preview of HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, & Starz—all at the same time, though I have no idea why—so I was able to record several more movies I’ve been wanting to see.  On the DVR this time are Muppets Most Wanted, Devil’s Due, Winter’s Tale, The LEGO Movie, & The Secret Lives of Walter Mitty.

If you’ve seen any of them, I’d love to know what you thought…just NO SPOILERS, please. :smiley16

I AM HAPPY, too, that I’ve been watching some entertaining stuff on the Torture Cycle recently.  The new limited-episode musical medieval comedy series Galavant, for one.  Have you seen it?  It is so funny!  It opens with a hugely amusing song & just gets better from there. :smiley4

And in case you’re wondering…or maybe I’m the only one :smiley29 …the songs from the show are available on iTunes.  I’ll definitely be downloading them one of these days because I can’t get them out of my head!

For another, the eerily suspenseful House at the End of the Street.  This one has been on my To Watch list since it first came out, but you know how I am about movies…I see them, I don’t see them; if they come on TV (especially through one of those aforementioned premium channel free preview weekends), I record them & watch them when I’m in the mood.  My DVR is filled with films I “couldn’t wait” to see, but still haven’t gotten around to watching yet.

Once in a while, though, I do manage to get through some of them.  I wasn’t expecting much from this one, either, but it turned out to be really good!  Definitely a nail-biter, & the end caught me completely by surprise. :smiley18  If you like edge-of-your-seat suspense/horror, I highly recommend it.

So what made youhappy this week?  Any good news you’d like to share, or simply a few blessings you’d like to stop & count?  Whatever the case, we’re listening! :smiley25

I had to take Spike to the vet as he had lost 2.5 pounds rather quickly and he is my skinny boy to start with. Turns out the toys I’d bought him had something in them that messed with his liver. Threw the toys out and flushed his system out twice and he seems to be doing much better. Going back to making his toys so I know what’s in them. Trying to stay warm and reading a lot.

Oh, no! I’m so sorry to hear that. He’s okay now, tho, right?

Gosh, you never know what kind of crap they’re putting in pet toys, food, beds, dishes… And how are *we* supposed to know? :smiley31

Thank goodness you got him checked out quickly & took care of the problem! :smiley34

It’s been a quiet week, not much happening. I went to my skin specialist for my Psoriasis and he has put me on two new creams, plus my needles. But I solider on. I read a lot of good books and kept up with all my shows.

I have Gallivant on my PVR and will watch all the episodes at once. Last night I spent watching some of my fav “oldies” on DVD or VHS… It was a nice relaxing night… Today is football. This week I will be going to my cousin’s for a few dance. I am going to watch her daughter take her last Dance test.. and then spend a few days with them. Looking forward to that.
    Have a good week.. :smiley25

Sounds like you’re going to have a fun week, Kathleen! :smiley30

Let me know what you think of “Galavant” once you watch it. I absolutely love it! It’s just SO FUNNY! And the music is catchy as heck. :smiley4 Did I mention that I hope they find a way to extend it? Turn it into a full-length series, do another mini-series…something! :smiley28

I am happy that, so far today, the Packers are proving everyone wrong cause they are ahead 16-0 :smiley4

I haven’t seen any of those movies. Hope you like them. So glad your kitty is feeling better.

I’m happy that I was able to get a package that had been misdelivered to the wrong mailbox today. I called USPS and told them the mailman put the key for the package door in the wrong mailbox. He came back and told me the key had been in my box..I told him I knew it wasn’t but thank you for coming back to give me my package.

What was in my package? Freeze dried mealworms for the rats. lol

    • Heidi says:

Ha! Hey, the rats are hungry, they need their worms!

I’ve been there, btw—somebody insisting on something I *know* isn’t right. But you’ve just gotta nod & pretend you agree to get what you need from them. :smiley29

    I’m glad Bella’s doing better! :smiley5

As for me, it was a pretty busy week with work stuff. My work computer wasn’t working for most of the week, but they finally figured out what was wrong and it seems to be useable again :smiley4 And since my computer was unusable most of the week, I got to spend time visiting with friends at work. So that was kind of nice (minus the computer frustration) :smiley34

    • Heidi says:

Ugh, computer problems are such a pain! Glad it was your work one & not your personal one, tho—at least you could shrug & say it wasn’t your problem. :smiley21
