Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday, My Darlings!

I hope you’ve had a lovely week.  Do make note of all the great stuff that’s going on, or simply what you’re thankful for this week so you can share with us!

This week, I AM HAPPY that Madame Mommy Dearest is home from Seattle.  She had a wonderful time, with only a few of the typical travel-related glitches here & there.

I AM HAPPY that Madame Mommy Dearest had a good time, of course, & that she actually managed to find six more Nancy Drew books that I didn’t have yet to add to my collection!  How’s that for an about-face, huh?  She didn’t want me to get them at all when I first discovered nearly the whole collection, & now she’s keeping an eye out for the ones that I’m missing! :may19

Not my toad, but this is what he looked like. 😉

I AM HAPPY that I was able to rescue a toad this week from someone’s basement.  I discovered later that toads can do okay in basements because they eat spiders & other insects, but in this particular basement, with these particular people…I have my doubts. :may24   He didn’t look to be doing so great, as it was, so I’m relieved I was there to find him & get him back where he belonged.

Also along the lines of adorable wildlife critters, I AM HAPPY with the number of birds I’ve been getting lately—no doubt because I’ve been keeping them so well fed.   There other day, there were five gorgeous goldfinches at a single feeder—four males & one females—plus a nuthatch & a dove.  Plus I get woodpeckers, blue jays, sparrows, titmouses…just   And I’ve got nine feeders going now…some seed blocks, some loose seed, some suet…& I think word is getting out amongst the avian community that I’ve got the best eats in the neighborhood. :may36

Not my goldfinch or sunflower, either, but they could be if I ever got my camera out. 😉

And last but not least, I AM HAPPY that I’ve got the most beautiful sunflowers growing right in the middle of my yard.  Thanks to spilled bird seed, they’ve started coming up all on their own, & I’m just letting them grow!  On one side of the house, there are three that are fully bloomed now, getting bigger by the day, & about six more that look as though they’ll be blooming pretty soon, too.  And on the other side of the house, there are some just coming up.  If I can keep the neighbor (who sometimes takes a turn at cutting the grass between the houses) from mowing them down, I think they’ll be big & beautiful, too!

That all makes me very, very happy this week! :may3

How about you?  What’s going on in your life, making you happy & thankful to reach another Sunday?

We want to hear your good news, or simply what you’re grateful for this week! :may7

I am happy that it has been a mostly good summer and that I’ve stayed in touch with friends.

I am happy there was a Firefly marathon on yesterday.
