Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday!

How are my Darlings of The Dungeon this week?  Well, I hope…with lots of great stuff making you happy that you’re eager to share with the rest of us!

This week, I AM HAPPY that I finally got my new Macbook Air out of its box.  Yes, it’s true—getting it set up & running was a two- or three-day process.  When I’m nervous about stuff, I have to take baby steps rather than jumping in & trying to get everything done at once :may17

I AM HAPPY that—after two tries & about 36 hours total :May37 —I finally completed the Mac –> Macbook migration.  Which means everything I had on my desktop Mac is now on the Macbook.  (Knock on wood.)  And it’s even all set up in basically the same order.  Gotta love that! :may35

I AM HAPPY that one of the programs that migrated was Word for Mac, which I really, really need to write!  And all my folders & files & documents came with it.  Yay!  That was a major concern, so it’s also a major relief.  (Now I just have to figure out how to work Dropbox & iCloud, & how to keep everything (documents, pictures, files, etc.) exactly the same.  I’m not 100% clear yet on how updates & syncing work. :may24 )

I AM HAPPY that I managed to get all of my photos moved from Madame Mommy Dearest‘s old laptop to the new Macbook without too much trouble, too.  It required a zip drive & acouple of tries, but that was another concern, & now it’s done.  Whew.  The next hurdle will be figuring out how to rescue all of MMD‘s other stuff off the old laptop before it has to go bye-bye.  Because again…the laptop is so old it’s still running on Windows XP, which is obsolete, & it’s got the big, giant crack down the middle of the screen, thanks to my clumsiness. :may24

And finally—though not Macbook-related :may19 —I AM HAPPY that WGN re-ran the entire first season of Salem, which I’ve been hearing so much about.  So slowly but surely, I’ve been watching episodes on the Torture Cycle.  I can’t say that I love it…as in, am all ga-ga & waiting for it to come out on DVD…but I’m intrigued & like it well enough. And let’s face it, the lead character, John Alden (played by Shane West) isn’t exactly hard on the eyes. :may2

And that is my good news for the week, in a nutshell.  How about you?  What exciting stuff has been happening with you over the past week, or what would you like to take a moment just to be thankful for? :may7

So glad to hear the mac situation is working out for you. Nothing worst than trying out new technology and not being able to figure it out.

I am happy that hubby is going out of town at the end of next month and I get the apartment all to myself. LOL

Yeah, technology makes me gun-shy. So far, so good on this, but there’s a lot more to deal with & I’m feeling very :may24 about it. Baby steps…

LOL So funny about having the apt to yourself, but I get it. Hope you don’t have anything *too* rowdy in mind during his absence. :may25

finallly summer classes are ending and one more week of work!!!!

    • Heidi says:

Oh, boy, summer classes. Hope you’ve been enjoying them.

The back-to-school commercials have started running almost non-stop, which I know means summer is quickly coming to a close. And as much as I complained about the heat at first, I’m still feeling :may38 about that.
