My thoughts for Memorial Day: As you picnic & go to the sales or however you plan to spend your day, please take a moment to not only remember those who sacrificed their lives in defense of our country but realize that they didn’t sacrifice alone. Lives were lost and those lost lives touched their loved ones, their community, and the future that wasn’t to be. Who knows what we lost when those lives were extinguished. What medicines weren’t discovered, what inventions lost, what songs not sung, books, not written, art not created, lives not taught, not touched. Remember that those lost lives allow us to be here to create and continue. Let us honor their sacrifice by being the best we can be. Enjoy the freedom their lives and futures have paid for and never take it for granted.
