happy dancing – X2!
Boy, do I have some good news to share this week! :chick
I am super, super, super excited to announce that I am a double finalist for Heart of Denver RWA’s “Aspen Gold” Award!
INHERITING HIS SECRET CHRISTMAS BABY—my December 2010 Harlequin Desire—is a Finalist in the Series Contemporary Category…
&…
THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS—last year’s holiday vampire collection with Kensington Brava—is a Finalist in the Paranormal Category.
:getdown :getdown :getdown
I could not be more tickled! Truly, I’m absolutely delighted. And so very proud of BITE, since—as I’ve mentioned before—it isn’t easy for light, funny paranormals to compete against all of those dark & serious vampires floating around out there. But for my SECRET BABY & my Christmas vampires…yippee! :jump

Thanks so much, my Darlings! It was so funny how the phone calls happened… Got one call, got excited, alerted everyone I know… Got the second call the next day, got even more excited, & alerted everyone I knew AGAIN. :kittylaugh
Not surprisingly, some of the ooooh factor had worn off people’s reactions slightly the second time around. :tongue

Wasn’t IHSCB set in or around Aspen? It’s been a while since I’ve read it so I can’t remember exactly. I just know I LOVED it and it was set in the mountains kind of around a ski area, and I LOVED it.

P.S. A little slow on the uptake today, but perhaps the Aspen/Denver setting is what appealed to the Heart of Denver RWA judges, yes? :whistledev
Doesn’t explain BITE’s final, tho, unless they figured Denver/Boston–both cold as a witch’s you-know-what in winter. :ROFL

Well as far as Bite goes….they just have good “taste”! Okay… couldn’t resist.
Now, I’m gonna have to go back and read Bite and see if I can find a connection. BRB. :babybook

YAY and congrats, Heidi! :bigwow
Have you read Darynda Jones’ “First Grave on the Right?” – I met her at our local RWA chapter and bought a signed copy. It’s FUNNY :ROFL , PARANORMAL :lildev and about the Grim Reaper. A *female* grim reaper. I bet you’d like it.
