He he. Btw, congrats on being the first commentor of the day & snagging the coveted Golden Halo. (Not quite as coveted as the Horns, but it’s still a good catch. :winkwink )

I don’t really like scotch but I do love Irish Whiskey in coffee with whip cream on top. :drinkup

    • Heidi says:

See, that’s why the Irish are so bloody brilliant. Add a little whiskey & you can make anything Irish. :drinkup

      • Tammy Beck says:

I should have tried a little whiskey in my Irish milkshake from McD’s & then it would be really Irish. :muahaha

I just saw on your sidebar that you’re reading Micah by Laurell K. Hamilton!!! Anita Blake is an AWESOME series! How are you enjoying it?

    • Heidi says:

I’m liking it, Bonia. I always like her stuff, tho the sex is getting a little out of control, imo. Loved the 8-12 books in the series cuz they were monster-heavy, less with the big dog pile orgy stuff. I don’t care how many guys she’s sleeping with, I just get tired of a big, over the top sex scene every 5mins.

But that’s me…I also get tired of the character drama on The Walking Dead. I want zombies, zombies, & more zombies, tyvm. :muahaha

Have you tried her Merry Gentry series, btw? Love that one, too. Lick of Frost was the *best* & I’m eager for another installment.

      • Bonia says:

I’ve started the series (1st book) but haven’t gotten to much into it. Although I’m going to make myself!
She’s supposed to be putting out 2 books this year, 1 in the Anita series and 1 in the Merry series. Maybe by then I’ll be able to read it lol

        • Heidi says:

No matter what, DEFINITELY read them in order. Do not start in the middle, do not stray off course. Start with Guilty Pleasures & go from there, IN ORDER. Trust me on this. They read very much like one long, drawn-out story that she just sort of broke up to keep the book from being a zillion pages long. But it’s like with Supernatural…you do not want to jump in in the middle cuz SO MUCH happens & builds from the start.

And just so you know, the first dozen Anita books are AWESOME!!! (There’s on in there early on…Bloody Bones or Blue Moon or Burnt Offerings – I know it’s a “B” title LOL…I didn’t like as much as the others, but then they go right back to being great.) They move really quickly, too.

But then, fair warning, after the first dozen books, they take a very weird turn to the erotic. They become more about Anita & her relationships & sex than about the monsters & paranormal stuff I signed up for. I’m still reading because I do enjoy them, but not nearly as much as those first few books.

Does that make sense? I really hope you like her, tho, because it really is a series that blows you away.

The Merry Gentry books are very different, storyline-wise, but also the same as far as hooking you & moving quickly. Didn’t love the first couple, but A Lick of Frost blew me away. And, yeah, I’m hooked, even tho this series is very much about the sex first & the monsters second.
