A FRIDAY FUNNY
This week’s funnies are all about animals to go with our Free Book Friday giveaway below. :kitty
FREE BOOK FRIDAY
This week, I’m not offering an actual book for Free Book Friday. Instead, I’m offering 10 sheets of Animal Rescue “Adopt a Shelter Pet” stamps to 10 different winners. (It may not be a book, but who couldn’t use free stamps, right?! :dog )
I actually wanted to do this way back in April when these wonderful pet rescue stamps came out, but as some of you may recall, very bad things were going on with my website & blog last Spring, so I never go the chance. :sadheart Now that I am fully in control of The Dungeon once again, however, I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. Neener-neener-neener. :tpspspspt
So as I said, I will be giving away 10 sheets of these fabulous stamps—one each to 10 of today’s bloggers.
To enter, simply leave a comment to today’s post that includes the code FBF—for “Free Book Friday,” even though these aren’t “books” in the strictest sense :winkwink —to let me know you’re interested in the drawing. (U.S. residents only for the prize, please, but everyone is welcome to chat.)
Winners will be announced during our Happy Sunday post on…well, you know, Sunday. Winners are also responsible for contacting me with their mailing information—i.e. I will not be contacting you—so be sure to check back in or you might not even know you won! :uhoh
Good luck! And remember—adopt a shelter pet!

I can’t think of a better face to see on a stamp than a “fur face”, especially when it’s for a good cause!

What a wondeful FBF giveaway. I told my sister in law about these stamps the last time we talked about them on your blog and so now we’ve been putting them on the cards we send back and forth to one another.

FBF: I love these stamps. I could use some to write to my Cuzzy at college in Boston :winkwink I really like the fact the USPS finally did something for the “pets”. My mom got me my cat from a shelter for V-Day :somuchlove in 1997. :thumbsup She’s still with me even though my mom isn’t. :angel

What a great idea! Although we rarely mail anything anymore, I love these stamps. There are some wonderful pets waiting for homes in the shelters.

Awesome giveaway for an awesome cause! All of our fur babies are shelter rescues or adopted from our backyard feral cat colony. Couldn’t think of a better way to use winnings than to make others aware of animals in need.

2 of my 3 cats are from the local shelter and the third one I rescued from being tossed on the street. With so many homeless animals, I would never promote buying a pet from a store or breeder.
I was surprised how hard it was to get one from a shelter now, I had to fill out forms and questionnaires and have references. Good grief (I understand why, but it’s worse than getting a kid). I did think it was smart of them to ask how much we expected to spend annually on the pet. Even though I’ve had pets my entire life I’d never really thought about it. When you add up food, litter and basic supplies it adds up. And my vet visits (which, fingers crossed, have been rare) seem to always be about $400 a pop. They are a luxury, but not one I’m willing to do without.

Wonderful give away…as always Heidi!
I can honestly say I have never bought an animal….I have found some….some have found me….and some were gifts! And everytime the newspaper comes out with their Pets of the week at our local animal shelter I want to run right up there and take them all…..but that is where the dh comes in and just says no more! Some day I will get one though….and if they could make a dog that doesnt poop I would take 10 of them! LOLOL
