the writer in me
Whoo-hoo! The first draft of Top Secret Project #2 is finally done! :may22
Whew, it took me long enough, didn’t it? :may6 I swear, I didn’t think I’d ever find just the right words to complete the last chapter & epilogue of this story. :may30
Getting through the end of some stories is so easy; they just sort of wrap themselves up in a nice little bow. Or I’ve had the ending in my head almost from the beginning & am so familiar with what I want to happen that it practically writes itself. :may9
And then there are some tales, like this one, that are like crawling through the desert…tapping maple syrup in January…following a snail past the finish line… :may16
Which isn’t to say that the end of Top Secret Project #2 isn’t fabulous—because it is! In fact, I’d venture to say it may actually be one of the best Happily-Ever-Afters I’ve ever written. :may15 It is sweet, sexy, romantic, &—in my humble opinion, anyway—infinitely sigh-worthy. :may21
I can’t wait for you guys to read this one & let me know what you think! :may34
The next step, of course, is proofing & polishing. I’ll need to sit down & read through from the very beginning to be sure it reads as smoothly as possible. :may20
Part of me is excited to do this & part of me isn’t looking forward to it at all. I mean, once the story is finished, can’t it just be done already? :may24
But no! I still have work to do. And the sooner I get to it, the sooner I can move on to…Top Secret Project #3.
