this writer’s life
So I’m working on another love scene. There’s at least one in every story I write, did you know that? That’s a lot of humping to write about! :spring27
But everybody likes a good sex scene, right? I tend to enjoy reading them than writing them, but hey—it’s part of my job description. :spring11
And this one, even though it’s taking me a while to complete, is turning out to be hot, hot, hot.
The only problem I’m having is deciding just how steamy to go. I don’t do erotica; that’s not my thing. But I do have the option of using…let’s just say some erotic-ish wording, if I like. (i.e. c*ck, d*ck, cl*t)
Unfortunately, I’m not sure that’s the right move for this story. I’m not uncomfortable using that type of language if it suits the story—even if it might not be what I’m known for—but this particular book (Top Secret Project #2) is part of a series, & since I didn’t go that far with the the previous story, I think I should maintain a certain heat level throughout. Given this hero & heroine, the bigger & badder words would work, but it might be a bit too jarring from one story to the next.
So it’s a bit of a juggling act. Hot without going “dirty”…safe without being boring. :spring22
You’re going to love it, though. Have I mentioned that you’re going to love it? I promise. :spring11
