readers who rock

Our next candidate for “Reader of the Week” would have to be sometimes-Darling Brooke C. (I’m sure she’s always darling, but she only pops into The Dungeon occasionally) who recently won a copy of THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS from Yours Truly, then popped back in on a “Happy Sunday” post to say:

“I’m very happy that my copy of THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, from your giveaway, arrived last week. I started reading it yesterday and absolutely love it! I had a really hard time putting it down and I’m already looking forward to some free time when I can read the rest. :green4 :green29 I’ve never read a paranormal romance before, but it’s so fun and witty that I barely notice that it’s about vampires. I’ve already bought MUST LOVE VAMPIRES, and I’ll have to read that next, since I know your vampires romances are so great! Thanks again!”:green1 :green27

The emoticons above are Darling Brooke‘s, but I’ve got to add a few of my own at her lovely, smile-inducing words…

THANK YOU, BROOKE! :green20

If you haven’t read my sexy, funny vampire romances yet, they’re still available—mostly in digital, as the paperback editions are out-of-print, but you can still get them for your e-reader. :green28

I’ve always been a vampire fanatic so I was thrilled when I found out you wrote some vampire books. And they were soooo good.

Thank you, Mary! I know I don’t do the dark, dangerous, urban fantasy-type vampire romances that are so popular these days, but I love it when readers (like Brooke) say they’ve never read vampires before but liked mine because they were sexy & funny instead of scary. :green12

But I’m glad that die hard vampire fans like you enjoy them, too! It’s the best of both worlds! :green25

You will LOVE Must Love Vampires too Brooke! I like them cause you get the whole sexy, hawt vampire without all the icky, creep suspense part. :green14

    • Heidi says:

LOL See my comment to Mary above. :green25 :green25

Not that there’s anything wrong with *dark* & sexy vampires once in a while (thinking NBC’s “Dracula”—hubba-mchubba :green14 ), but I love the sexy, lighthearted ones, too. Lots of room for humor with the vampire world, if you ask me. :green16

Aww, thanks Heidi! You’re too sweet. I just finished Must Love Vampires, and I absolutely loved it! :green1 :green10
I never really thought that I’d read a paranormal romance, but I’m so glad that I won The Bite Before Christmas and got to give them a try! It opened up my eyes to some amazing new romances that I never would have thought to read. Now I just have to figure out what to read next…

Hi, Brooke! I’m so glad you saw this & dropped in. (I wasn’t sure if you were on FB or Twitter, so I didn’t know how to flag you down. :spring5

But thank you AGAIN! I feel like I should give you a second “Readers Who Rock” Day to repeat what you just said.

I’m beyond thrilled you enjoyed BITE enough to pick up MUST LOVE VAMPIRES & that they were your first foray into paranormal/vampire romance. I’m all kinds of proud & verklempt knowing that. :spring20

      • Brooke C says:

Oh my goodness, I think I’m blushing from all your nice compliments. :spring20
I don’t really use facebook or twitter, but I try to stop by the dungeon to check out your posts every day. I’m really glad I did yesterday. And I’m extra glad that your books were my first paranormal/vampire romances – you should be proud of them, because they’re awesome! :spring16
