One of the things I love about writing contemporary romance—especially sexy, funny, quirky contemporary romance—is being able to slip in little references & inside jokes that most, if not everybody, will get.  My hope is that readers will catch them, & that they’ll add just a touch more amusement than the story might without them.

This time around, in my current, Top Sekrit work-in-progress, I was able to work in two fun references that I think will make you chuckle.

The first is a reference to Magic Mike & the song “Moves Like Jagger”…

Yeah, that’s pretty much the reaction I was hoping for. :scorpios   Now let’s see what you think of it when you read it in the actual story.  You’ll have to watch for it & let me know if it has the impact I’m hoping for. :walk

The second is one that, in reality, squicks me out.  I do not care for the commercials at all.  But within the context of this story, & most especially the scene itself, a reference to the Trojan Vibrations “it will blow your hair back” line was really kind of perfect.

Once again, you’ll have to watch for it when this story actually comes out & let me know what you think.  I think you’ll get a kick out of it, but we’ll see. :leaves
