Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s back to being kind of warm outside, so I hope you’re all finding a way to stay cool while you enjoy this wonderful weekend.

As for me, I AM HAPPY to be finished with my “Dynasties:  The Kincaids” novel for Harlequin Desire.  Huge relief to have that puppy finished & know I’m no longer running behind. (This is always a good thing, & I never, ever know if I’m going to be on time until I actually am…if that makes sense. :spikey )

I AM HAPPY I got a bit of a brainstorm concerning the plot of my next Harlequin Desire, too.  (Though I’m going to sleep on that one a while, just to make sure it really is a good idea & not something dreamed up during a post-deadline haze.)

I AM HAPPY I once again survived the 100 Mile Yard Sale.  It gets harder every year, though, especially when it’s hot.  I do not handle heat well.  I think it’s my delicate Southern Belle disposition. (Will be filling you in later with the deets. :cupcake )

I AM HAPPY that there are some really lovely people in the world, who are friendly & more than willing to help when you have a minor emergency while trekking around on the 100 Mile Yard sale.  Even though it wasn’t their problem & they really didn’t have to.  (I know—cryptic much? :que   Just trust me; they saved my butt.)

And last but not least, I AM HAPPY with my yard sale treasures.  Not much; nothing worthy of Antiques Roadshow, that’s for sure.  But I found some fun stuff, which really does make me happy. And a few things for the kittehs, which makes them happy, too. :kittyplay

All right, your turn!  What are you happy about or grateful for this fine July weekend?  Go ahead & share… :picnic

:bigwow I am happy that I am the FBF winner.

I am happy I’ve gotten some really tasty blueberries this summer and the fabulous recipe my friend gave me for blueberry muffins turned out smashingly well. :cookin

I am grateful for Willis Haviland Carrier inventor of modern air conditioning. Without which I would be a big puddle of goo.

I’m a blueberry-aholic, Donna! Wait all year for them to come into season, then eat so many of them, I nearly turn blue! A neighbor friend used to make the most delish blueberry muffins & I do have her recipe, but I sorta don’t love blueberries cooked. Just want them fresh & raw on cereal or by themselves. Heat ruins them, imho. LOL :cookin

It’s been a rather craptastic week for me :angrychick (stupid menopause!!) But gonna try to find some happy….

Let’s see….oh I found the most magnificent shoes I want to order. Like now.

Oh, and I’ve decided to become a zoo docent (educator) and while that is going to require some time for class, studying and “interning” I’m really excited about it. The group they have now and were at our orientation were so much fun and welcoming. Now who wants to touch a snake (Hollie–get your mind out of the gutter! geesh!)?!? Bearded Dragon?!?! Ferret? Bird? (For those you that want to touch an animal/bug with more than 4 legs then you will have to see another docent).

I’m happy that school starts soon. My kids are bored. They need to go back.

Yeah, that’s about it. Congrats to Donna and Hollie!!! Donna–it’s a really good book!!

Very cool, Laura. I love zoos, but then have animal mistreatment guilt, so be sure your zoo is being uber-nice to the critters. And I actually would pet a snake or bearded dragon…or even the animals of the same name :ROFL :naughty …but probably not a tarantula. No, definitely not a tarantula. Sorry, but they freak me out. :hide

      • Laura J. says:

Yeah…on the tarantulas. No touching. Our “professor” said that the docents used to handle them and one actually got “bit” (felt like a bee sting) but they no longer get them out not because of the danger to the docents or people but because of the danger we pose to them.

Our zoo is wonderful. I know one of the keepers (he’s in Civil Air Patrol with my oldest). Dave (the keeper) knows how much B’girl loves animals and wants to work with them someday (She wants to be Dave or Tim…he runs a wildlife rescue…when she grows up). He said to find him at the zoo when we are there and he would take us behind the scenes. He did and we got to see the other Tiger they have. She was one very unhappy tiger when they ran out of her treats. I figured seeing the less glamorous side of it and B’girl would want to do something else, but it only made her want to work there even more.

The three Grizzly bears they have now in their brand new exhibit (which is where I hope to spend the majority of my time) are rescue bears. Momma bear had been labeled a nuisance and had just gotten her third strike (she apparently likes fresh chicken). They told our zoo they had x number of days to make arrangements to get her and the cubs and our zoo jumped on it. We are awaiting to see the orphaned baby polar bear (she was found in Alaska). She is in quarantine for a couple more weeks. They have put videos up of her on Facebook in her back room playing and you can tell she is happy. She even has her own pool in the back and lots of toys.

Ok..you could only HOPE i was speechless :ROFL
    Thank You!!!!
    Congrats to Donna!!
Glad you survived the 100 mile garage sale! Cant wait for the details!!
Im happy this week for summer vacation! Not having to go to work everyday! Finally able to get somethings done around the house!
Im happy that the hubster put the air conditioners in the windows!! He said I am MUCH nicer with air than without..and ya know what …I think he is much Smarter with the air in! :ROFL
Stay cool everyone…heading for the high 90’s this week!~ :lildev

  4. Heidi says:

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet lately, but I’ve been out & about. Yard sale, errands, a few personal issues that have cropped up. But I am sorta still here, so please, please play amongst yourselves & have a good time. The Dungeon is always open. :bw

  5. Fedora says:

Woot, Hollie and Donna! And glad you found a few goodies on that ginormous yard sale outing, Heidi! Yay!
