Overstock.com rocks!
I stumbled upon this totally by accident, but am SO EXCITED about it! :may14
Online retailer Overstock.com is using their website & influence to help find homes for shelter pets! :may11
Not only can you search for a pet in your area or from shelters across the country, but they provide lots of great articles & links about pet care & adoptions.
And this is the message they share, which I absolutely love:
At Overstock.com, we believe every life is valuable. That’s why we’ve figured out how to use our technology to help the lives of homeless and abandoned pets. We’re providing this as a public service because a world where there are no homeless pets is a better place to be.
So spread the word. And the next time you’re looking to bring a wonderful new fur-baby into your home, be sure to check them out!

Doesn’t it, tho? I don’t do a lot of shopping online—at least not until I’m doing last-minute Xmas shopping in a total panic :may30 —but that’s where I got MMD’s stand mixer & I think I’m going to shop there more often now that I know they’re supportive of shelter pets! :may35

:may14 Our oldest four-legged son came to us through the local animal shelter. Our newest edition started out as a rescue we were fostering . . . we failed fostering!! The best pets are often the ones someone didn’t want.

Amen, Virginia!!! :may7 I feel exactly the same—all of my fur babies have been rescues & I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
I love that you failed at fostering, too. I would be exactly the same! :may33
