out with the old, in with the new

PhotobucketOnly two days left before the start of a whole new year!

As you know, I’m having a little bit of trouble with this concept.  I can’t quite figure out where the last year has gone.  Wasn’t it just October?  And before that, June?!  I feel like there are entire months missing from my 2011 experience.

Regardless of my grumblings, however, I suspect 2012 is going to march right in & take over. :cat

I also suspect that I’m supposed to make one of those nasty list of New Year’s Resolutions.  Well, time may be marching on, but it can’t make me do that!

If I were to make a list, thought, it would probably simply reiterate some of the things I strive toward on regular basis, anyway.

Write more & faster…

Eat less, exercise more…

Be nice(r)…  Be kind(er)…  Be (more) helpful & generous…

Save animals…  Save the ring-tailed bandecoot…  Save the world…

You know, the usual. :icecube

So are you making any New Year’s Resolutions this year?  And if so, what are they?

And even if you’re not doing the official list thing, is there anything you are going to strive to do better or more of?

“Look at every New Year’s resolution I’ve ever made. I’ve got the best of intentions, but by January 3rd or 4th, there I am—broke, hung over, & coughing up stripper glitter.”

:newyear Time flies whether you are having fun or not. With all your health issues this year I’d be amazed if you weren’t missing a few moments. I do wish you a happy, healthy, and productive new year. As for me I try not to do the resolution thing as it feels like I am setting myself up for failure. :cheers

I sort of feel the same way. Altho, instead of setting myself up for failure, I like to think of it as a mindset of trying to do better every day of the year & not just at the very beginning. Kind of like trying to be cheerful every day instead of just at Christmas. But then, I do have my mid-near Ebeneezer Scrooge moments. :butt

I don’t make any real resolutions since I’ll break them within days (maybe hours). Several times a year I tell myself I’ll eat better and exercise more. Yeah, sure.

I can guarantee that I won’t be coughing up stripper glitter…that one is for sure!! :pumpkin

I am making the same ones I always make…lose weight, get organized..craft more, read more, laugh more….keeping my fingers crossed it all works out :houhoh

I don’t see me coughing up any “Glitter” of any kind. But New Years Eve is going to start out with being with some of the people I love. 2011 was not a good year, but We got thorugh it and the next year can only be better…

Wishing you all the very best for 2012.

I stopped making resolutions a few years ago because I feel that New Year’s resolutions are useless since most people won’t stick to them and are potentially mentally damaging since most people feel defeated when they can’t live up to the resolutions they make and are less likely to try to do those goals again.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t come up with some resolutions just for you, heidi…

This year I will check my prvate email more than once a month.
I will, start a new blog about how I am going to change the world if I could only find the time to write more…and then write one entry and leave that blog up for the next ten years.

    I will eat more fruit…snacks.

I will start drinking more water…with my vodka.

I will conserve water by taking less baths, doing less laundry and wearing more deodorant.

There, I think I have a good list this year. 😛

ROTF Okay, now those are funny! But one question—are those *you* resolutions that you came up with just for today’s blog…or resolutions that you came up with for ME to keep? :houhoh
