Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday, everyone!  How has the week been treating you?

I’ve had a pretty good week, I’m delighted to say.  Much to be thankful for, even without wracking my brain too hard. :hmmm:

What first?  Well, I AM HAPPY that we’ve got new emoticons to play with. :dancin:  I thought it would be fun to exchange Summer smilies for Fall ones, since Autumn is just around the corner. :tree: But get your fill of them now, because they probably won’t be around for long…Halloween is closer than you think, & I’ll be swapping them out before then, too. :juggle:

I AM HAPPY that we got some big items moved to the new house. The day/move in & of itself was kind of a nightmare.  Can’t even get into it right now without reactivating my migraine :baseball: but at least we got a leg up on getting some of the furniture transferred from one house to the other.  I’m not even sure where it’s all going to go yet, but that’s a problem for another day. :squirrel2:

I AM HAPPY that I was able to design a couple of cute signs asking guests to remove their shoes before walking on the newly cleaned, white (unfortunately :snowball: ) carpet in the new house.  These aren’t too rude or offensive, are they?

Oh, & I made another one, just for fun:

Hahahahaha!  That one’s for Madame Mommy Dearest.  The woman does love her wine. :bashful:

And finally, I AM HAPPY that the new house has a brand new roof. The previous one was in pretty bad shape.  Thankfully, we knew that ahead of time, so we were not only able to use it in negotiations, but didn’t suffer any nasty surprises after we were already moved in. :windy:

The roofers were there all week—well, Monday through Thursday—& did a fantastic job.  Not that I know anything about roofs. :snowball: But they sure were hard workers!  A crew of six, there from before 7am to at least 5:30pm most days…8pm one of them.  And I could tell by talking with them that they really knew their stuff & were being straight with me.  How?  Well, because I’d done a bit of research before calling around for estimates & finally deciding to hire this company.  So when they mentioned something that needed to be done a certain way, I knew they were right based on what I’d learned. :squirrel:

They were also really nice & professional, & I was impressed enough to ask for estimates for a few other jobs that need to be done around the house.  Not sure I’ll be able to get them done right away, since I’m sort of running out of money—household repairs are expensive, danger! :snowball: —but if & when I can afford it, these are the guys I’d like to hire.  Especially since they were honest enough to knock a few hundred dollars off their original estimate for the roof when they didn’t need as many materials as they’d expected…& they reminded me several times that they stand behind their work, so if I have any questions or problems, just to let them know; they’ll come back to check or repair any issues that might (but hopefully won’t) crop up.

All good stuff, which makes me very happy indeed. :dancin:

So how about you?  What great stuff has been going on with you this week?  What has you smiling or feeling thankful that you might like to share?  Take a minute to share with us so we can cheer you on! :cheer:

I wish you well in your new home. May it always be filled with love and laughter!!!!!

I have had a busy week. Had the youngest niece for few days. I lived such a quiet life, but it’s nice to have it shaken up now and again with a teenager in the house.. We had a good time and I was out everyday.. But she went home on Thursday night and I went and had a pedicure on Friday. Always so relaxing. I love them all, my nieces and nephews, but Aunt Kathleen is getting older now and likes her peace and quite. Better to read in..lol..
    Have a good week..

LOL I know what you mean. A little fun & change of routine goes a long way sometimes. Sad when you have to recuperate from something like that, tho, because your normal routine is so laid back. :tv:

Sounds like you’ll be all moved in soon. I love the cute signs you made. Those are great.

I am happy that I won books! 12 of them in two different contests and one of the boxes came yesterday. So I’ll probably be busy reading for some time.
