  1. Laura J. says:

To answer her last question: YES! I’ve had people look at me with a scornful face when I say I read romance. I’ve even had one person ask me how I can read “that stuff”. To which I replied, “I would rather read about two people falling in love and being happy, than read about killing, torture, evil, meanness, etc. If I want that kind of stuff I’ll just watch the news.” At the time, she was reading some high suspense stuff (not romantic suspense). It really irked me the way she said it and I wasn’t quite so nice in my tone when I replied to her.

Or how about those Oprah picks that were always about molestation & horrific childhoods, usually followed by somebody dying. Oh, yeah, a good time was had by all—NOT!. :brr

      • Laura J. says:

nope, not me! I do not like those kinds of books. The only non-romance fiction book I want to read is The Help, otherwise, I want, love, sex, orgasms, happy ever afters. Oh and a hunky hero too. Can’t leave those out.

  2. Mary Kirkland says:

My hubby still doesn’t understand my love for romance books and my brother doesn’t even read the cereal box so what does he know. But I could care less what others think…they are the ones missing out, not me.

  3. Anne says:

This was not what I expected when I started the video. I actually new about most of the facts she mentioned, but i think it gives a lot of people something to think about.

Isn’t it great? A little hard to hear in places, but great ammunition for the next time somebody makes fun of our reading choices. We should have the URL printed up on little cards & just hand them out. :icecube

So good that I even shared it 🙂

  5. Donna says:
