Are you tired of hearing all this exciting news yet?
Well, buckle up, because I’m not finished yet.
Just keep in mind that I’ve been sitting on a lot of this information for quite a while, & now I have to get it out or I’ll explode! So here we go with…
Last week, I mentioned that my first project for Entangled is a three book series called “Love.com” for the Lovestruck line. And I spent a fair amount of time gushing about how excited I am to be writing for Lovestruck, considering it’s the funny, sexy, quirky romance line, which is exactly what I love to write. :howyoudoin: So hip-hip-hooray on that one! :highfive:
But how excited would you be if I shared the title of my very first Entangled Lovestruck release & gave you a sneak peek of the cover? :peace:
Do you love it, or do you LOVE IT????!!!
As you can see, it’s not finalized yet. Oh, this is what it will look like…the artwork itself won’t change. But a tag line will be added, as well as the “USA Today bestseller” thing, because that is not something we’ll allow the world to forget. :howyoudoin:
So let me know if you think it’s as gorgeous as I do! Or if you’re…you know…wrong. :grrr: LOL
And if you have questions about the story based on the hints that the cover is giving you, feel free to ask! I’ll happily answer as much as I can without giving too much away or ruining any future Big Reveals. :watermelon:
The second part of my glom of Big News sharing, which I know you’ve been on pins & needles waiting for…
Last week, I told you about my wonderful new sale to Entangled Publishing, but now it’s time to share the deets!
My first project for Entangled is a trilogy. Not a solid three-book trilogy; it could be added to at any time to become a series. But for now, it’s going to be just three books.
The series name for these three books is “Love.com” ~ a sexy, funny take on modern romance in the age of technology. Each story will have a strong element of technology &/or social media woven in. For instance, the hero & heroine of the first book link up via Twitter. And then there’s Facebook & cell phones &…well, the list goes on, doesn’t it? :howyoudoin:
After a bit of shuffling around between editors & lines (see footnotes at bottom of post***), the trilogy found a home under the Lovestruck imprint. Which I love. My writing style & the Lovestruck line go together like strawberries & cream…chocolate & peanut butter…me & Tom Hiddleston. :hottub:
And there’s even more to come! :shark:
But for now, let’s enjoy this amount of information & just be happy, shall we?
***re: Editors ~ the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Libby Murphy left Entangled 30 seconds after they bought my books, which means I never actually got to work with her. :crying: So I was assigned to a different editor. Then they changed their minds about the imprint under which my books would fall, so they reassigned me again. But it worked out, because Editor A happens to be super! (We’re working our way up to adding the calicalifragilisticexpialidocious part. ?)
***re: Lines ~ The trilogy was first assigned to one of the novella lines, but those closed. So they moved them over to the Indulgence line. Then it was decided they were too fun & flirty for Indulgence, so they were moved to Bliss. Then Lovestruck was developed & it was decided that they were be a better fit there. ?
***Three really must be my lucky number, because I was bounced around between 3 editors & 3 lines for a 3-book project, but it’s all worked out swell! :flower:
Show of hands—who’s tired of me talking about Top Secrets Projects for the last forever without ever announcing what was actually going on? Yeah, I know—me, too. :peace:
But the time has come when I not only can, but dang well need to start sharing all of this great news with you! So keep an eye out over the next few weeks for some exciting stuff! :summer:
Longer ago than I care to admit, I was chatting with the totally awesome Lori Wilde, who put me in touch with the extra super-duper Libby Murphy at Entangled Publishing. So Libby & I talked, then I sent her a one-page proposal for an idea I’d been playing with for a while. And I distinctly remember her saying it would take 6-8 weeks to hear back, given her turnaround time, as well as the general submission process. I’d literally just turned in my latest Harlequin Desire two days earlier, I was all kinds of okay with that; I just wanted to sit back & relax…sleep for probably a week, maybe even take that entire amount of time as a mini-vacation. :hammock:
But Libby don’t play that—she doesn’t want anyone having fun without her. Or so I assume, since she e-mailed me the very next day. “…your proposal is brilliant,” she said, “and we’d like to take it through acquisitions.” :highfive:
Well, okay…. #1 — Holy effing crap. Are you serious? Overnight? You looked at my proposal, loved it that much (I’m reading between the lines here :howyoudoin: ) & want to buy it…all in a 24-hour period?
#2 — OMG, I just sold another book—another trilogy, actually.
#3 — Really? You’re not even going to let a girl decompress from her last deadline before making her jump in & start a whole new project? :dammit:
And #4 — Holy offing crap, are you serious?! :scream:
The details took a while longer to sort out (which is why I haven’t had a new book out or been able to make this announcement before now), but finally I received my official “Welcome to Entangled!” greeting & this awesome gift:
Which I both use & revel in on a regular basis. :pinkdrink:
So there you have it. My first bit of Big News is that I AM WRITING FOR Entangled Publishing NOW & will have books coming out with them pretty darn soon. I think.
